Information Alone Doesn’t Transform
By Alex Whitley
Jesus spoke to religious leaders who knew the Scriptures well. “You search the Scriptures, because you think that in them you have eternal life… Yet you will not come to me, that you may have life” (John 5:39–40).
Knowing more is not the same as becoming like Jesus. An answer can be accurate and still leave you unchanged.
New Wine can give you a good answer in seconds. It can’t pray for you, obey for you, or walk with you through the slow work of becoming new. That happens with the Spirit, in Scripture, and among people who know your name.
So when an answer lands, don’t rush to the next question. Read the passage around it. Ask the Spirit what He wants to change. Take it to your pastor or small group.
Be doers of the word, and not only hearers.
James 1:22
